Vela Plaza Beach

The Vela Plaza is certainly one of the most beautiful beaches in Baska and at the same time also one of the best bathing spots on the island. It is the main beach of the resort that delights with an almost 2-kilometre-long, white pebble bay, as beautiful and unique as you know them from travel magazines. The sea shines turquoise blue and truly invites to swim and splash around. In the high season, this dream beach accommodates several thousand tourists and is also the tourist center of Baska. Thanks to the quality of the sea, cleanliness and perfect facilities, the Blue Flag has been flying at Vela Plaza since 1999.

The tourist offer is also great. Sunbeds and umbrellas can be rented and, in addition, pedal boats, kayaks, and surfboards are offered for rent during the season. The many good restaurants and cafés along the promenade also provide the necessary food and drinks.

Tip: Most of the accommodations in Baska are located directly at Vela Plaza. Very popular is the Valamar Atrium Baška Residence, only a few steps away from the dream beach.

Bunculuka Beach

Probably one of the most popular nudist beaches in Baska is Plaza Bunculuka, about a 10-minute walk east of the center. Naturists in particular love this fantastically beautiful bay, which is about 300 meters long. The pebbles are fine to sandy in many places, allowing easy entry into the clear sea. The impressive rock faces and Mediterranean vegetation are especially unique and make this beach a real eye-catcher. Behind the beach is the Bunculuka Valamar naturist campsite that shares the same name as the beach. Non-Campers are also allowed to visit this great bathing beach for an entrance fee.

A part of this bay is even reserved as a dog’s beach! Lunch and Dinner are provided by the lovely Bistro & Lounge Boneta, where you can also enjoy a romantic setting in the evening with seafood and more.

Mali Raj

Mali Raj is a real insider tip among the best beaches in Baska. Translated, it means “little heaven” and really, this bay more than lives up to its name. Even the approach by boat or the walk along the coast on the Vela Luka hiking trail is breathtaking and an experience in itself. You can reach Mali Raj bay and other small beaches on foot in about 30 minutes from the center. Once you get there, you will experience a paradisiacal dream beach that delights with its fabulous rocky landscape, snow-white pebbles and spectacular turquoise-blue sea colors.

There are still no restaurants or beach bars here; instead, you will experience untouched nature and quiet bathing pleasure. Definitely one of the most beautiful beaches in Baska, which can be ideally combined with a short coastal hike!

Rare Bird Beach

A small beach highlight is the Rare Bird Beach at the Rare Bird Diving and Sailing School. This hidden natural jewel is located on the Vela Luka coastal hiking trail, just off Plaza Bunculuka, and can be reached by a comfortable walk from the center. Here, the exceptionally beautiful scenery with imposing rock formations, a fine pebble beach and the many pine trees is particularly fascinating. The colors of the sea are also breathtaking and truly amaze visitors. Directly on the beach is the Rare Bird water sports center, which offers tourists various diving and sailing courses.

Vela Luka Beach

The Plaza Vela Luka is one of the absolute top beaches in Baska and even if it is not that easy to reach, you should definitely plan a day at this dream beach. This 1.8 kilometer long and 400-meter wide bay is situated in a breathtaking natural landscape away from the hustle and bustle and is separated from the resort of Baska by a mountain range. The sea is extremely clear and thanks to the natural setting, you can discover many interesting things while snorkeling. To reach this picturesque bay, you can either take a hike of about 1.5 hours or, a little more comfortable, take a taxi boat for 100 kunas per person from the town of Baska. Either way, a trip there is a real experience and a guarantee for an unforgettable day by the sea.

Sveti Ivan Beach

Beautiful and perfect for a holiday is also beach Plaza Sveti Ivan. This small romantic bay is situated in a quiet location, only a few minutes’ walk from the center and is therefore a little less frequented. While swimming here, you can enjoy an incredibly stunning setting with a dreamlike view of the mighty mountains and the turquoise sea. The pebbles at Plaza Sveti Ivan are particularly fine, and the rocks in the sea are perfect for snorkeling. You should bring your sunshade and sunbeds if you need them.

Tip: A small holiday settlement is just behind the beach. Highly recommended is the Apartment Marwin, which delights its guests with its fabulous location and breathtaking sea view.

Jablanova Beach

Jablanova beach is a real insider tip among the most beautiful bays in Baska. This dream beach is secluded, surrounded by wonderful nature, and can only be reached by a 10-minute walk from the naturist campsite or by boat from Baska. Once you arrive, you feel as if you are stranded in paradise, the sea is crystal clear and refreshing and the landscape is more than just romantic. Behind the beach in the cool shade of the woods is a small beach bar that provides refreshments and a touch of hippie flair.

Tip: The idyllic Jablanova is not an official naturist beach, but still a popular place for nudists. Swimwear may be worn, as textile-free is not a must there!

Skulijka Beach

One of the absolute dream beaches and a real insider tip is Skuljika Beach. This bay is hidden below the lighthouse at the very tip of Baska and can only be reached by boat or by a 70-minute hike (path no. 1). The path past the Baska Viewpoint is breathtaking and a must for all hiking and mountain fans! Once you arrive, a beautiful natural bay awaits you, which you mostly experience on your own. While swimming in the sea, you can enjoy a fabulous view of the opposite island of Otok Prvic.
