The Biserujka Cave is only open from April to September, and the opening hours vary depending on the season. In the winter, the cave is closed to visitors.

Admission to the Biserujka Cave is reasonable and currently costs only 6 euros per person. There is a discount for children. Infants up to 5 years old are even free.

The temperature in the cave is always between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius, so you should bring some warm clothes with you. Good closed shoes are important as the stairs can be slippery.

General Information about Cave Biserujka

The Biserujka Cave is located in the north of the island of Krk, about 35 kilometers from Rijeka on the mainland, 22 kilometers from Krk Town and 10 kilometers from Omisalj. Surrounded by a karst landscape, the cave is located immediately below the surface and consists of a cave channel. A special feature of this cave is the abundance of stalagmites, stalagtites and stalagnates. During a visit, you will be amazed by the underground halls, including the entrance area, the balcony, the shaft, the large hall, the northern channel, the hall of bridges and the cypress hall. The Biserujka Cave is not only a beautiful place to look at, but it is also an important habitat for many rare and endangered species. So far, 24 different organisms have been discovered. Also worth seeing is the skeleton of a bear found in the entrance hall when the cave was discovered in 1900.

During the tourist season, from April to September, it is possible to visit the Biserujka cave as part of a guided tour. Visits take place every half hour and can be attended by up to 25 people. This excursion destination on Krk is also suitable for families with children. The path through the 110-meter-long cave is short, well secured and beautifully lit. Furthermore, there are some great viewpoints and photography is allowed without flash. You should plan to spend about 20 minutes for a visit. As well worth a mention is the area around the Biserujka Cave. A picturesque hiking trail leads through the karst landscape and connects the cave with Slivanjska bay. There are several information boards along the way for nature lovers.
