The town of Bibione, with a population of 2,500, is located on a beautiful peninsula on the upper Adriatic Sea in Veneto, about 10 kilometers from the neighboring towns of Lignano and 40 kilometers from Caorle. On the 11 km peninsula of Bibione there are actually 4 charming resorts, including Bibione Spiaggia, Lido dei Pini, Bibione Pineda and Lido del Sole. Each has its own charm and advantages, but Bibione Spiaggia is the pulsating heart of the resort. A lively promenade, first class hotels, numerous restaurants, bars and shops create a unique holiday atmosphere. Lido dei Pini, Lido del Sole and especially Bibione Pineda are quieter, but also pleasantly lively and recommended for vacationing.

The Piazza Fontana is definitely one of the most charming places in Bibione. It is considered the central meeting place for locals and tourists alike and is the vibrant center of the town. During the summer months, the square is also a popular venue for cultural events and concerts. This attraction owes its name to the magnificent fountain that gives the square a sophisticated ambience. Surrounded by well-kept green areas, flower beds and trees that provide shade, Piazza Fontana is an inviting place to linger. Here you can sit on a bench and watch the colorful hustle and bustle. A visit to the piazza is especially beautiful in the evening when the fountain is lit up.

The long Walking Street

It is located in the center of the popular tourist resort of Bibione Spiaggia and runs from Viale Aurora, where the main square is located, through Piazza Niccolò Copernico to Via delle Costellazioni. Bibione has been flying the Blue Flag since 1987, an award for cleanliness, excellent facilities and water quality. The warm and shallow sea, which is particularly appreciated by families with small children, the elderly and those who cannot swim, is characteristic of this coast. Moreover, unforgettable days on the Upper Adriatic are guaranteed by a phenomenal offer of entertainment and water sports. The main beaches are the Bibione Spiaggia, the Lido del Sole, the Lido dei Pini and the quiet Bibione Pineda.

Tip: In Bibione there is also a dog beach, the so-called Spaggia di Pluto, which has been awarded several times as one of the best dog beaches in Italy.

Luna Park Adriatico

Probably one of the most popular attractions in Bibione is Luna Park Adriatico. This small but exciting amusement park guarantees fun and entertainment for the whole family. Whether young or old, there is something for everyone, with 65 colorful rides spread over 12,000 square meters! Among them are lovingly designed rides such as roller coasters, carousels, pirate ship, ghost train, children’s train, Ferris wheel and bumper cars. In addition to the typical rides, there are also traditional shooting galleries, bouncy castles, slides and cotton candy stands.

Tip: The entrance to Luna Park in Bibione is free, only the rides have to be paid. Open daily during the summer months from 19:00 – 24:00.

The Lighthouse

The lighthouse of Bibione is certainly one of the most famous landmarks of the seaside resort. This iconic structure stands at the tip of the east coast of Bibione and is a popular destination for nature excursions, walks and bike rides. An insider’s tip is to visit the lighthouse in the early hours of the morning, as the fantastic play of colors at sunrise is legendary. The lighthouse, which is about 21 meters high, was built at the beginning of the 19th century and originally served as an orientation point for shipping. Today it is not only an important lighthouse, but also the symbol of Bibione. The Lido del Faro beach is particularly picturesque, with its golden sand and turquoise sea creating a magical atmosphere.

Tip: The Bibione Lighthouse is located in the “Mouth of the Tagliamento” nature reserve and cannot be reached by car, but only on foot or by bicycle.

Foce del Tagliamento Nature Reserve

The Mouth of the Tagliamento Nature Reserve, also known as Riserva naturale Foce del Tagliamento, is a real treasure for nature lovers. This fascinating natural area is located to the east of the seaside resort, in the surroundings of the lighthouse. The reserve can be reached through a number of bicycle and hiking trails that cross a very charming landscape. There are always nice places to stop along the way. The reserve stretches along the coast and offers interesting ecosystems with dunes, salt marshes, forests, estuaries and beautiful beaches for swimming. There are numerous plant species, including 25 different wild orchids and a wide variety of species. Waterfowl and mallards can be found here, as well as emerald lizards and rare species of turtles.

Lagoon of Bibione

The magnificent lagoon of Bibione is one of the reasons why Bibione is so special. This beautiful natural jewel is located just northwest of the resort and stretches for miles toward the mainland. During a boat trip, you will be amazed by a huge natural area, crisscrossed by a series of small and large channels. In between there are little islands and the typical fishermen’s huts made of reed and wood. The lagoon of Bibione is an important resting place for migratory birds and a paradise for birdwatchers. Tours by excursion boat through the lagoon are offered regularly from the port in Bibione Pineda.

Tip: The stylish restaurant Ai Casoni is also worth a visit. It has a wonderful view over the lagoon and serves delicious fish dishes.

Parco Zoo Punta Verde

The Parco Zoo Punta Verde is located in Lignano on the border of Bibione and is an exciting destination for families with children as well as for animal lovers. This magnificent zoo covers an area of about 100,000 square meters and is home to over 200 species of animals from all over the world. On a tour, you can explore different themed areas such as the Africa Area, the Australia Area and the Reptile Area. Visitors can get up close and personal with giraffes, flamingos, lions, monkeys, zebras, alpacas and snakes. Parco Zoo Punta Verde is known for its dedicated conservation work and plays an important role in the preservation of endangered species. Visitors can also participate in educational tours and workshops to learn more about the animals.

Bibione Thermae

The Bibione Thermae is the most popular thermal bath in Bibione and is worth a visit, not only in bad weather.
